Vitamin B12 helps to metabolise carbohydrates, fats and proteins and contributes to normal red blood cell formation.

The recommended daily intake (RDI) for adults is 2,4 micrograms.

A vegetarian diet can make you prone to a vitamin B12 deficiency.

  • Meat
  • Fish
  • Dairy products

Vitamin B12 can also be taken as a supplement and is generally in oral form.
